A local TV host, personality and producer, Brian Hackney, winner of 18 Emmy Awards, use to run a segment called “Eye On The Bay” on CBS News San Francisco.

Brian would cover wide-ranging topics from local tourism to issues facing the Bay, natural disasters, culture, travel and more. Brian even had a personal signature, which involved him driving in his classic red MG, akin to Hitchcock’s cameos in every film he ever made.

The last Eye On The Bay that Brian produced was a tour-de-force of Hitchcock Bay Area sites, and in many ways brings to life Footsteps In The Fog: Alfred Hitchcock’s San Francisco, as he explores the different sites and locations covered by Hitchcock’s Bay Area films, specifically Shadow of A Doubt (1943), Vertigo (1958), and The Birds (1963). It also takes a look at the people and communities that were involved in the filming process. It is well worth the time to feel the nostalgia of Hitchcock and take a tour of locations around the Bay Area, both past and present.

Here is the CBS page that gives an overview of the production. Below is an embedded link to the YouTube video.

For much of this episode, I am interviewed to add details and commentary on what Brian covers with great passion and appreciation, in his own personal ode to the Master of Suspense.
